About the CCW Renewal Class:

The training requirements for renewing a Colorado Concealed Carry Permit changed on July 1st, 2025. You now must complete a class within the 12 months of applying for your renewal. That class must include a written exam, live fire exam, and some basic lecture.  This class meets all those requirements.

Content will include:

• Important range gear
• Range Etiquette and Range Rules
• Common Range Commands
• Concepts of Aiming
• Iron Sights and Red Dots (Pistol Optics) Overview
• Proper loading and unloading procedures
• Effective shooting stances
• Proper firearm grip
• Trigger Manipulation
• Overcoming common challenges and barriers
• Ready positions
• Recoil management
• Cleaning demonstration
• Ammo ballistics

Advantages to The Outdoor Gun Range

Please note the shooting portion of this class is presented on an outdoor gun range. We go far out of our way (literally) to teach this class at an outdoor range to maximize your learning. On an indoor range it is hard to hear and a large class of 10 people have to take turns shooting in one or two lanes.

By hosting our class at an outdoor range each student gets a lot more education and shooting and learning all in an environment where you can actually hear the instructor.

What Do You Have To Bring?

For this class, the student can either provide their own gear (below) or, for $40, you can rent all the requisite gear including ammo from the instructor. If you need to rent gear, please make that request in advance of the class so the instructor can be sure to have sufficient gear for everyone.

For this class you will need the following:

• Government-issued photo ID
• Appropriate clothing for the weather (We will be outdoors)
• A handgun in any caliber.
• 100 rounds of ammunition for the handgun
• Eye and ear protection
• While not required, things move faster and the class will be more enjoyable if you can bring at least 1 extra magazine for your semi-automatic or at least 1 speedloader for your revolver
